Anna Maria Island is located on Florida's west coast, just south of Tampa and near Sarasota and Bradenton. The island is located on the Gulf of Mexico and features white sand beaches that stretch for miles along the gulf.

Anna Maria Island is a different vacation experience than that found in many other areas of Florida. There are no high-rise hotels and condominium towers. It's a laid-back small town atmosphere, but in a spectacular natural setting with a sub-tropical climate and the clear waters of the gulf always within a short stroll.

There are three towns on the island: Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton Beach. A free island trolley system gives visitors an easy way to explore the different towns and beaches.

Of course the main attractions on the island are the beaches. No matter where you are on the island, a spectacular white sand beach is within a short stroll. There are over 7 miles of white sand beaches on the island.

Whether you want fine dining or something more casual, you have the choice of a number of excellent restaurants on the island. If you want even more dining options, Longboat Key, Sarasota and St. Armand's Circle are within a short drive.

Shopping is primarily concentrated on historic Bridge Street in Bradenton Beach or in the town of Anna Maria. World-class shopping is available a short drive away on St. Armand's Circle in Sarasota. Or choose great discount shopping at the largest outlet center on Florida's West coast...Ellenton Outlet Mall just 30 minutes away on Interstate I75 with over 130 stores... Coach Factory, Banana Republic Factory Store, Gap Outlet, Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th!

If fishing is what you're interested in, you have many options. You can fish from the beaches, from the fishing piers in Anna Maria and Bradenton Beach, or on many of the fishing charter boats available in the area.
